Testifying of God’s Grace

“How has the LORD worked in your life at OC Bible?” Please let us know if you would like to share your story!

By God's grace, OC Bible Church has been a continuous refreshment for my soul. Since being welcomed in 2019, I've not only witnessed faithful, expository preaching from the Bible, but also deep conviction and joy for the Lord in the people surrounding me.
What ultimately drew me to stay and serve at this church was how intentional the elders were in honoring the Lord with worship prescribed by the Word.
I firmly believe that OC Bible Church aims to welcome all who have an interest or are at least curious about the Christian faith.

My wife and I have grown so much in our relationships with God (and as a natural result, with one another) - learning about and experiencing Him for who He is, not who we want Him to be. God has shown us the sufficiency of His Word, which is really just an aspect of the sufficiency of God Himself.
The first day we came, the pastor addressed the situation with masks, etc. (this was 2021). He calmly, clearly, stated the leadership’s thought process of how they’ll be interacting with public policy, and then extended welcome for each of us to act on our own convictions. Mask or not, our only objective here is to worship our Lord. That was so freeing in such a tense time! And it modeled how to tangibly “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.”
This is a small church, but that means everyone is here because they want to be! There's no show, not a ton of structured programs, just real life in Christ.

It seems hard to find a quiet humble place, but that is how we would describe OCBC, "understated" yet mighty in the teaching of the Word of God and the fruit of the Spirit it produces, as people grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. My wife and I have received blessing upon blessing these past five years, as the depth of fellowship has produced lasting friendships of consequence.
Initially when we arrived, we found everything was "right" (at least according to our views). The offering box was on the side, and there has never been mention of it. The time of worship includes only a soft-playing guitar and keyboard. And indispensable to fellowship are the bi-weekly lunches afterward. Little of ceremony, much of systematic teaching, no show.
It is a very polite and respectful tone which permeates. We believe the Lord is well-pleased and we are most grateful to Him for this His gift to us.
