Visiting a church for the first time can feel a little unfamiliar. We hope this page helps answer your questions and gives you an idea of what to expect here at our church. We’d love for you to join us, as we gather to worship the Lord Jesus Christ.
When and Where
We meet for our corporate worship service Sunday mornings at 10am, at the Multi-purpose Room of Sierra Vista Middle School, located at 2 Liberty, Irvine. Our services typically go from 10am to 11:40am.

What to Expect
Our worship services are centered on honoring Christ in His word. Here’s what a typical order of service will look like:

The Lord’s Supper, once a month: While we do not require membership to participate, the Lord’s Supper is to be taken only by believers of Jesus Christ, after careful examination before the Lord (1 Corinthians 11:23-32). If you are not a believer, we would welcome you to refrain from taking the bread and cup, and instead to seek the Lord.
Fellowship Meals: Our Fellowship Ministry provides meals for the congregation to enjoy, every first and third Sundays, immediately following service. All are welcome to stay and fellowship with us!
Expository Preaching
“I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word.” (2 Timothy 4:1-2)
The word of God is sufficient and powerful for all that we need for our Christian lives (2 Timothy 3:16-17). As such, we preach the Scriptures verse-by-verse, explaining what it means, so that our lives are transformed according to the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18).
We typically preach from the Legacy Standard Bible or New American Standard Bible translations. However, please use whatever translation you find most helpful. We provide LSB Pew Bibles for those who need one.

What Do We Sing?
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with gratefulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16)
Rather than being an audience, the congregation is called to be active participants in the corporate assembly. That is particularly seen in our corporate singing to the Lord, who is pleased by the praises of His people (Hebrews 13:15). As such, we are called to sing!
Our congregation sings a blend of traditional and contemporary hymns, psalms, and doctrinally-sound songs of praise. The content of our songs ought to accurately reflect the character and works of our God. Our musical accompaniment ought to serve the congregation’s proclamation of the truth of God through singing.
How About Our Children?
As a Family-Integrated church, one of our greatest joys is to disciple our children to worship the Lord. A great way to do that is to have our children be part of our regular assembly, so that families worship the Lord, sing the same hymns, and receive His word together.
To help parents engage with their children, we encourage parents to:
Grab a children’s handout: We provide materials for our children to engage with the Scriptures, through fill-in-the-blanks, key word searches, and coloring pages that are all based on the Sunday’s message. We hope that this serves as a spring-board for you to speak with your children about God’s word.
Sing with your children: Model for your children your devotion to the Lord by joining together with the congregation in corporate singing. Feel free to ask us for a list of songs we sing at service, so that you can sing them with your children during your times of family worship.
Talk to your children about the importance of worship: The Bible instructs parents to talk with your children about the things of the Lord, as a pattern of every day life (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). Take time to prepare your children for Sunday service, so that they see the importance of church life.
Is There a Dress Code?
Dress includes anything from ties to t-shirts, so wear whatever will be most helpful to you and others in our worship of the Lord. We simply ask for modesty and propriety (1 Timothy 2:9; 1 Peter 3:3-4).
